Explorer Scouts (Ages 14–18)
Bassingham Scout Group is linked with the Rural Explorers (T-REX)—our Explorer Scout Group for young people aged 14 to 18.
Explorer Scouts are open to both existing Scouts and new members who want to join the adventure. Explorers continue the Scouting journey with even more independence, challenge, and opportunities for personal growth.
A Bit of History

The Explorer Scout section was created in the late 1990s to meet the changing needs of young people.

It replaced the earlier Venture Scouts, which themselves evolved from Senior and Rover Scouts.

Explorer Scouts are for ages 14–18, and the Scout Network is for ages 18–25.
What Explorers Do
Explorers take part in a wide range of activities, including:

Expeditions and outdoor adventures

Skills for life and leadership opportunities

Community projects and volunteering

Social events and international experiences
